Spring Trends
Spring is such a great time of the year! We all look forward to Spring, after a long hard winter of looking through our gardening magazines, yearning to get our fingers in the warm, moist soil, ahhhh! Yes, but what makes this Spring different from all the others of the past? How can you step it up a notch and make your garden(s) look really unique, not just what everyone else has or what you did last year? Here are a few NEW items that Wedel's has in stock that we think are really fun and interesting:
- UNIQUE pots. Wedel's has the best selection of fabulous pots in Southwest Michigan-ceramic, feather-lite, clay, strawberry, urns, and plastic. What's new!?!? Well, we have a new kind of pot that is bio-degradable after 3-5 years of use. When your plant needs to be transplanted, instead of pitching the old pot into the landfill to be there for life, it disintegrates! They are made of bamboo and rice pulp and comein a variety of colors and shapes and sizes. What a concept!
- COLORED tomato cages. What? Yep, what a fantastic way to add color to your garden before fruits appear. Lime green, red, yellow, blue, purple- how fun is that!!!
- Wedel's has a whole section in the store dedicated to being "green" and eco-conscious. There are many new items that are earth-friendly and/or organic. From garden seeds to fertilizers to insect and disease controls, Wedel's has a great selection of items to help you and your family and your new sustainable lifestyle...now that's trendy!!!
- Looking for something very unique? Have a look at the Invincibelle hydrangea, new at Wedel's this year. For years gardeners and landscapers have dreamed of a Annabelle Hydrangea with pink flowers. The dream has come true!
- Herbs- the original scratch and sniff! Herbs are all the rage in gardening magazines, on the Food Network, or any other cooking shows. Herbs are used many different ways in the landscape, too. Obviously they are used for cooking - Wedel's has many books on cooking with herbs, herb drying kits, indoor herb growing kits, etc. But, something that I have noticed a lot lately, is many landscapes have herbs in them for their beauty and still can be harvested for use, too. We have a fantastic selection of herbs in our expanded Annual and Perennial Department.
