What is an easy way to get a child interested in gardening?

Excellent question! Kids love to dig in soil and get their hands dirty. Where better than in a garden of their own? Mark a small area in your garden that all theirs. Give them their own set of tools and have them loosen the soil so they can plant their seeds. Let them plant some radish seeds for example. Even if they don't like radishes, radishes grow quickly and will hold their attention. Let them water and weed their garden and, when it is time, ask them to pull some radishes for supper.

Gardening with kids is a great way to spend time with them, teach them and, most importantly, begin a lifelong family tradition of working and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine together.
