Azaleas
Most Azaleas are deciduous; though they belong to the genus Rhododendron and most Rhododendrons are evergreens. You will find approximately 50 varieties at Wedel's and among them, a vast array of colors and blossom shapes. Azaleas feature funnel-shaped blossoms, and are excellent choices for borders, foundations and woodland edges. Light shade is recommended, as well as protection from wind.

Witchhazel
Witchhazel has long been recognized for the extract we know and use as an astringent. The plants themselves are quite attractive, growing to 8 to 12 feet tall. Their growth habit is upright and spreading. The yellow or gold flowers are fragrant, and appear from October through December with "Common" Willows, creating an interesting winter display. Vernal Witchhazel shrubs bloom in late February or early March.
