There are many reasons to want evergreens in your landscape. You may like the greenery in the cold winter months, or it may be the lower utility bills that result from a wind break on the north and west side of your home.
One benefit that is frequently overlooked is the shelter evergreens provide our feathered friends. Birds will stay in your yard longer if they can get out of the wind. Evergreens will also block your view of the neighbors RV or a street with heavy traffic.
Narrow leaf evergreen (conifer) trees give a landscape year-round interest, color and texture. Conifer trees are versatile and can be used as specimens, hedges, privacy screens, backdrops for smaller flowering plants.
Most of Wedel's evergreens are grown in our local nursery making them extra-hardy. Our larger pots mean you'll get a better looking plant with a strong root system that will adapt more quickly to your yard. Evergreens are so much more than the yews your grandma had in front of her home.
