How can I improve the soil in my flower beds and garden? |
Here are a couple of ideas for you. Spread Wedel's Composted Cow Manure and sphagnum peat moss over your growing areas. Cultivate or till in. Another method works very well also. Use a cordless drill and a bulb auger (Wedel's has a variety of augers to choose from.) and drill holes about eighteen inches deep every foot throughout the beds. Again, use a mixture of Wedel's Composted Cow Manure and sphagnum peat moss to fill the holes. Rake to spread the soil from the holes across the planting area. This method is called vertical mulching. Worms and insects eat the organic material you've put in the holes and, as they burrow into the surrounding soil they leave casings which improves the native soil there. |

How can I keep my plants clean and shiny? |
If you could see how plants are watered at the growers in Florida and Canada you would know why they get water spots just like the glasses in your dishwasher. Before plants leave Wedel's we spray them with plant polish to clean the leaves. This is like makeup for the leaves. It doesn't hurt/help but just makes it look nicer before going to its new home. |

Is there an all-in-one product that I can use to improve my flower beds and vegetable garden? |
There is! Scotts Premium Humus & Manure will do an excellent job for you. Add 2 inches of Scotts Premium Humus & Manure to your garden area. Rototill or spade to a depth of six to eight inches, mixing well to avoid creating a barrier between the new soil and the native soil. Level the garden with a rake. Plant seeds or live plants, following specific package or plant tag instructions. Water thoroughly, then daily until plants are well established. Wait 2 weeks and begin feeding. |

What pot do I put my plant into? |
The best pot to have any plant in is clay. Clay is not glazed and allows air flow through the soil better. This helps the soil to not be saturated and not rot the roots. Wedel's has clay pots and saucers from 2 inches to 18 inches. Other choices are glazed, tins, plastic pots and baskets. We highly recommend having drainage in your pot (hole/holes in bottom). This requires a saucer to catch any water. |

When do I repot my houseplants? |
You can repot most plants at anytime. Wedel's suggests repotting every two to three years and never when the plant is in bloom. We also suggest going up two to 4 inches in the circumference of the pot. This gives the roots room to grow. |
